Tae Wang Sa Shin Gi Episode 19

We lead in from episode 18 with the pending showdown between Kiha and Sujini where only Kiha knows that they are blood sisters. So if Kiha doesn’t say anything, the truth would be buried with her when she dies.

As Kiha prepares to strike Sujini, memories of her mother, baby Sujini comes flooding back as she is shocked. Sujini doesn’t know anything and just keeps flying at Kiha while the latter keeps flinging her away. Cheoreo decides to help but gets hit in the chest by Kiha’s fire power and starts burning up.

Sujini rushes over to Cheoreo and tries to put it out but gets burned herself. She tells Kiha to put it out but Kiha replies that she can’t. Sujini places her hands frantically at Cheoreo’s chest not knowing what to do. But lord behold, the burning fire reacts to Sujini as it dissipates. This is concrete evidence that Sujini is the Jujak owner, no doubt about that.

Sujini face turns vengeful which is so reminiscent of her predecessor Sae Oh when Kajin dropped her baby. Signs of Sujini letting her emotions get the better of her as she picks up the weapon which lits up in flames and prepares to strike Kiha. Kiha is stunned as Saryang rushes towards Kiha to protect her but he is slashed by Sujini. Kiha has no choice but to use the fire power as a shield as Sujini bounces off it. Battle ends with Sujini lying in a pool of blood, and possibly no control of her mind and body temporarily as she lapse into sleep. It’s a relief that Sujini hasn’t assumed control of the Jujak heart.

Kiha now finally remembers what happened to her the night when Hwachun stormed her home. Her memories of that night were taken from her by Dae Jang Ryo but she manages to remember it now thanks to Sujini. It’s something like the Haitian power from Heroes. Kiha can’t believe that her life is so wretched and I feel so sorry for her really. She tries almost all the time to change her destiny but alas fate is so cruel to her.

Damdeok meets his generals and engages in some banter with them to show how excellent the camadarie of him and his troops. He tells them that he has no intention of drafting more men and insists that their mission is to avoid war at all costs as much as possible. Damdeok sends his men to inform the Goguyreo ministers/lords to give up their money/items in exchange for a percentage of the salt trade that he is going to get in this mission. Lord Yeon has nothing but regret that he didn’t take his wife’s dying words to heart, that he must beware of Damdeok who has the intelligence of a snake.

Sujini brings the injured Cheoreo to Black Water village to get treatment for his burns. She also confesses to Hyun Go that she lost her senses while fighting Kiha and this ties with the knowledge that she is indeed the Jujak owner afterall. What follows is a heart-warming conversation between Sujini and Hyun Go and for once we see how deep their disciple/teacher relationship is. This was a very touching scene.

Kiha goes to the cave to meet Dae Jang Ryo who has been waiting for her. She is furious with him for destroying her family and causing all this mayhem. She tries to kill him but Dae Jang Ryo is not harmed as he explains that because he was born from fire, he can’t be killed by it. This explains why Cheoreo was able to hurt him because his power is not fire but cloud.

Sujini goes before the Black Water village council and admits to what she has done. She promises to end it by herself and thanks her elders for taking care of her all this while. She wants them to help Cheoreo to heal no matter what since he saved her life. She decides to leave for a place where no one knows her.

Sujini dresses up in a pink dress and appears before Damdeok wanting to put on his armour for him. Damdeok doesn’t know a thing and continues to tease her but Sujini can’t control herself and hugs him from behind. Damdeok knows something is wrong but Sujini won’t say a thing and starts crying. Sujini says its because she’s drunk and returns him his wine bottle gift. Damdeok sends her away as Sujini leaves knowing that this is their last meeting. Sujini leaves teary-eyed as Hyun Go watches on, unable to do anything. Another sad sad scene.

Ho Gae finally reaches and finds Ba Son’s brother who is tight-lipped about the Baek Ho sacred symbol location. Ba Son is really anxious and rushes into the workshop to look for it. Ba Son’s brother is confronted by Ho Gae but he bites his tongue and commits suicide instead. Ba Son finds the sacred symbol and brings it to Ho Gae but it’s too late, her brother is dead.

Damdeok is furious and demands to know her whereabouts. He finally learns the truth about Sujini destiny as the Jujak owner. He decides to look for her but General Ko and the rest asks him to put his army above all else instead.
