Gospel Reflection

Friday January 16: Mark 2:1-12

Just imagine a house overflowing with people attentively listening to Jesus’ preaching then comes a paralytic being carried by four men on their way to Jesus. Seeing that there’s no way for them to get inside they climb onto the roof opened up a man size hole where they lowered the paralytic.

By their actions the paralytic was rewarded by Jesus with forgiveness of his sins and he was completely freed from his physical infirmity. After that nothing was heard of the four who brought the paralytic to Jesus. They simply faded away with humility content that they’ve done something very important to somebody who’s in need of their help.

How many of us are like the four men?
