Tae Wang Sa Shin Gi Episode 15

Episode starts with Ho Gae leads his 40k troops up north to hunt down White Tiger sacred symbol. It then shifts back to show Kiha with a scheming look on her face as the second-in-command at the Oracle temple questions her actions thus far as the High Priestess. She dismisses her questioning and chides her for daring to even question her. Kiha was really scary in this scene and she has really done very well here.

Next, Kiha convenes a meeting with Lord Yeon and orders him to kill all the ministers that were loyal to Damdeok’s father and plant his own men to replace them. And not to let Damdeok near Gooknae Castle at all. At least until Ho Gae returns with the White Tiger sacred symbol so that she can proclaim him as King in her new role. She doesn’t want Damdeok and his elite army to enter the city at all. But Dae Jang Ryo states that he believes that Damdeok and his puny army would perish at Baekje Gwan Mi fortress for sure. And we leave Gookane castle with Kiha’s face showing no form of emotion.

We then move to the battlefield outside Gwan Mi Fort as Damdeok army faces off against the defending forces on the castle gates. This was an incredible war sequence and you have to watch it for yourselves really. The superior Goguyreo attack forces eventually wears down the defenders resulting in lots of Baekje soldiers getting killed. The city gate is then set on fire and the Baekje general marshalling the forces is hit by an arrow as Damdeok and gang looks on.

Gwan Mi Fort overlord, Cheo Ryeo finally gets out of his throne and breaks through the burning city gate in a nice scene to show his invincibility. Everyone looks on in awe as the one that they call “the devil” strides towards them alone for battle but Damdeok looks fearlessly at his arrival.

Jumochi gets the nod from Damdeok as he leads his Siwoo tribe against the one-man army of Gwan Mi fort. Cheo Ryeo weaves his magically-enhanced spear and sends their horse buckling in a mini sandstorm. Jumochi however rides out the sandstorm and goes 1-on-1 with Cheo Ryeo. Their first clash leaves Jumochi hands trembling as his battle axe is no match for the magic spear of Cheo Ryeo. Cheo Ryeo is amazed that Jumochi is still standing though.

Cheo Ryeo then goes on a killing spree, maiming all the Siwoo tribesmen that came along for the ride.

Jumochi then takes on Cheo Ryeo in round 2 of their battle but Jumochi is no match since his power hasn’t awakened yet. But he manages to slash Cheo Ryeo which incenses him as he hits Jumochi off his horse and renders him heavily injured. Cheo Ryeo stands over an immobilised Jumochi on the ground.

As Cheo Ryeo is about to kill Jumochi, Sujini rushes towards them and fires a slew of arrows at him but he deflects them away with ease. Cheo Ryeo then sends Sujini and the rescue party to the ground with his magic spear. I just want to ask, what was her teacher and Black Turtle owner Hyun Go doing? Watching all the fun going on? He seems to be quite useless.

Damdeok makes a move and rides towards Cheo Ryeo who is seen clutching his heart in pain. He can’t fathom but it’s actually the Blue Dragon symbol in his heart that is responding to the coming of the Jyushin king, Damdeok. He doesn’t know of course and Damdeok is horrified that Cheo Ryeo picks up Sujini as his hostage and rides back into his castle.

We are now back at Damdeok’s camp as the injured are being attended to. Really love the Jumichi and Dalbi couple. He is so cute and shy in front of Dalbi. As he speaks of how he failed to kill Cheo Ryeo, Dalbi scolds him for not treasuring his life and going to battle even though he is known as the devil. While she is talking, she keeps hitting his injured areas, ouch! Jumochi is touched to see her crying while scolding him. But when Dalbi looks at him, Jumochi looks away trying to remain manly. But he is smiling gleefully that she is concerned for him. How cute.

Meanwhile after discussion, Damdeok decides to forget about Sujini and orders the entire army to retreat.

We then shift to Ho Gae’s camp where his generals are all incensed at Ho Gae for placing too much trust in Kiha. Kiha though turns up and meets Ho Gae who is pining so much for her. Kiha tells him her requests and he agrees to it without question. Kiha would lure Damdeok here and wants Ho Gae to kill him. Kiha then mentions that she will discard him once he is useless and he has no gripes with that. He wants her to kill him herself when that time comes. Poor Ho Gae, he loved his mother and Kiha but all they want is to make use of him.

Meanwhile back at Damdeok’s camp, Julno chief and General Ko are overseeing the retreat when they receive word that Damdeok is going alone to Gwan Mi Fort for Sujini. Jumchi and Hyun Go decides to partner each other to go and rescue Sujini as well. Hyun Go takes over from Sujini as he teases Jumochi for saving Sujini without asking for money.

We then go to the lair of Cheo Ryeo as he tries to touch Sujini face. His heart starts to hurt and he sees the memories of the past where the Dark Pheonix battled the other three guardians. Sujini then awakes and soon finds herself in a jungle. This was a rather protracted scene.

As Jumochi and Hyun Go argue outside Gwan Mi Fort, Damdeok appears outside the gates and claims he comes as a messenger of Damdeok. He is let in after agreeing to give up the 10 Bakeje forts for Sujini. Meanwhile Sujini finally meets Cheo Ryeo and he ask why does she make his heart hurt so badly and she can’t answer back for once.

We then see Hyun Go and Jumochi finally making it to Cheo Ryeo’s room as they meet the Baekje general who tells them the whole story of how his master had been waiting for the Jyushin king to save him from his misery.

Damdeok meanwhile finds himself in the jungle and after a long protracted scene, he finds his Jumong Sword hilt glowing brightly. More scenes of the past flood Cheo Ryeo’s mind as he makes an attack on Damdeok but is repelled because the latter is the Jyusin king. Cheo Ryeo beseeches Damdeok to save him from the pain. The hilt turns into the magic arrow like what Hwan Woong used in the past as Damdeok shoots Cheo Ryeo. The symbol is awaken in the night skies of Baekje as Sujini, Jumochi, Hyun Go and the Baekje general arrives on the scene as well and witness this moment.

Damdeok proceeds to pluck out the Blue Dragon symbol from Cheo Ryeo’s heart and now he has ownership of this. The disfigured face of Cheo Ryeo starts to peel off now that the symbol is out of his body.

Meanwhile as Damdeok makes his way back, he is surprised to find General Ko and the Julno chief waiting for him. They had wanted to rush into the Gwan Mi Fortress should he not come out by dawn. Damdeok is happy that he has a bunch of loyal men who is willing to die for him as we end the episode here.

It seems like Kiha is working separately from Hwachoon now. Hwachoon wants to kill her baby because he has the blood of heaven and is therefore a threat to their future even if they were able to get their hands on all four symbols and conquer the world. But, Kiha is not on Damdeok’s side either and wants vengeance. It’ll be interesting to see how the three sides clash in the end.
