Tae Wang Sa Shin Gi Episode 14

So we start off from where we left off in Episode 13 as the elite Goguyreo army under Damdeok, Siwoo tribe under Jumochi and the Julno tribe successfully conquers Seukhyeon Fort. Jumochi then leads his men plus Sujini and intercepts the messengers that were going to inform the next fort of their demise.

Then we see Sujini and Jumochi dressing themselves as Baekje soldiers and successfully infiltrates the fort. Funny scene ensues as they look funny in their new armour and Sujini keeps on teasing Jumochi about his relationship with Dalbi. They are a joy to watch and have excellent chemisty! They manage to take out the gate guards and opens the city gates to let their men in.

It’s easy for Damdeok as his army conquers fort after fort in a short number of days. He maintains strict discipline and eventually the Baekje comes to know of him as a benevolent ruler and surrenders without a fight.

We shift northwards to the border of Goguyreo and East Baekje where Ho Gae’s army is stationed. The Iron Warriors finally arrive but without Kiha who has returned to Gooknae Castle. Ho Gae is devasted at this and is further angered when a messenger brings news that Damdeok has conquered four Baekje forts with his small army. He orders Damdeok’s messenger to be bought out again and questions him on Damdeok’s message. He finally loses it when he addresses Damdeok as “His Majesty” and kills him. Nice use of red color as the setting for this to symbolise Ho Gae’s change of character.

We then shift back to the Oracle temple at Gooknae Castle as Kiha makes a surprise visit. She pours out her grievances to the High Priestess before stating out her intentions. She will take over the temple first as she places her hands over the High priestess head and casts a spell on her. She finally states her ultimate aim is to make her son the king of Goguyreo.

Back to Damdeok camp as they discussed about their next move. Damdeok wants to wait for Ho Gae to move his army down and join forces against Gwan Mi Fort. But the Julno chief doesn’t believe Ho Gae would do that and decides to take matters into his own hands.

Meanwhile at Gooknae castle, Lord Yeon and Dae Jang Ryo have a dispute over information dissemination again. Then we are told by Dae Jang Ryo that they have discovered the possible location of White Tiger sacred symbol. They caught and interrogated a blacksmith working under Ba Son who testifies that Ba Son was originally from Heuksu Malgal Blacksmith Village. The one where the light of the White Tiger shone on the night of the birth of the Jyushin king. And they agree that Ho Gae must move north instead of joining up with Damdeok.

Forward to the Oracle temple where the High Priestess collapses in the midst of a ceremony and Kiha conveniently walks in. The High Priestess utters her last word, “Kiha!” “Give the Symbol of the Oracle to Kiha.” before dying for good. And Kiha becomes the new High Priestess as we fade away with a nonchalant look on Kiha’s face. She has truly turned evil.

Ho Gae’s receives instructions to move north instead of south to hunt White Tiger sacred symbol and he goes along with the decision. Damdeok meanwhile suffers a double whammy, learning that the messenger he sent was killed and Ho Gae wouldn’t be joining him. Further setback after learning that Julno chief has bought some men plus Jumochi in an attack on Gwan Mi fort without informing him. Damdeok decides to go after them as he doesn’t want to see his men die as we have a heart-warming exchange between him and General Ko.

Shifting to Gwan Mi fort, we are given a look at how the young Cheo Ryeo was trained in weapons and has a special talent for the spear. Then fast-forward to present as we see him sitting on his throne in a dungeon like room. He speaks like Darth Vader since he has mask on him. And he looks intimidating definitely.

Julno chief and Jumochi are now just outside Gwan Mi fort and can’t compromise on how they would attack. Then back to Damdeok as Hyun Go deduces they would definitely strike the shipyard so that the fort would then release soldiers out to relieve them. As Damdeok is deciding over who to send, Sujini volunteers herself saying that only she can bring Jumochi back! We then see the plan being carried out successfully and they deduced that it is a good time to strike the castle since only 500 soliders would be left. We end the episode with Damdeok joining up with Jumochi, Sujini and Julno men outside Gwan Mi Fort.
