Gospel Reflection

January 30: Friday Mark 4:26-34

Jesus speaks about the Kingdom of God in the gospel; coincidentally this Kingdom of God is where we all want to be when our earthly journey is over.

What is our ticket to be accepted into His Kingdom? On the first parable He said that seeds were scattered by God, it became fruitful and it was harvested. We can be compared to the seeds that were scattered and we need to be fruitful so that when our own time is up we will end up in His Kingdom.

On the second parable, a tiny mustard seed was sown then it eventually sprang up and became the largest of plants that it gave shelter to the birds. We are also the tiny mustard seed that was sown; in the progression of life we eventually grow up. In that process we also need to make a positive difference in the lives of our fellowmen as the mustard seed gave shelter to the birds.

That’s the secret ticket to enter the Kingdom of God.
