Gospel Reflection

January 26, Monday: Mark 3:22-30

Why is it that those who will blaspheme the Holy Spirit will never have forgiveness and they will have an everlasting sin?

The Holy Spirit is what God sends to us so that we will have an awareness of His presence and it opens up our minds on the truths of God’s existence in the universe. Once we deny or refuse to accept these truths we will do sinful things without qualms or guilt of conscience eventually we will become incorrigible sinners.

The Holy Spirit guides us to have an awareness of God, on how good God is not only to us but to all of humanity. That’s how important the role of the Holy Spirit is. Once we refuse the leadings of God thru the Holy Spirit we also refuse God and Jesus.

The Holy Spirit is a free gift from God that is ours to take, this is given to us during our Baptism and its presence within us is strengthened during our Confirmation.

However, God also has given us the free will to affirm or reject its presence within us. Once we reject/blaspheme it we open up ourselves to commit unspeakable sins and we will never have forgiveness.

Unless we learn to recognize and accept its existence.
