Gospel Ref. [Jan.7]

Gospel Reflections for Wednesday January 7: Mark 6:45-52

Quotations:

"If you write for God, you will reach many men and bring them joy. If you write for men, you may make some money and you may give someone a little joy and you may make noise in the world, for a little while. If you write only for yourself, you can read what you yourself have written and after ten minutes you will be so disgusted, you will wish that you were dead." Thomas Merton

My Reflections:
After feeding the five thousand maybe Jesus was tired; He needed to recharge so He allowed the crowd to go and He told the disciples to get into the boat to precede Him to Bethsaida.

Nobody was left except Himself; I think Jesus really wanted to be alone for a moment so that He will be able to pray to God. He wanted to recharge His weary body by way of prayer.

It is also important for us to have our quite moments with God. Just us and God, there’s no vocal prayers whatsoever. We just listen to Him in silence and allow Him to strengthen us spiritually.
