Gospel Ref. [Jan.6]

Gospel Reflections for Tuesday January 6: Mark 6:34-44

Quotations:

"If you write for God, you will reach many men and bring them joy. If you write for men, you may make some money and you may give someone a little joy and you may make noise in the world, for a little while. If you write only for yourself, you can read what you yourself have written and after ten minutes you will be so disgusted, you will wish that you were dead." Thomas Merton

My Reflections:
How come Jesus was able feed five thousand men out of five loaves and two fishes? It is given that HE is God and He can easily do that miracle but there were other factors that facilitated the miracle of the multiplication of the loaves and fishes.

The first factor was His pity to the vast crowd who were like sheep without a shepherd the second factor was His generosity. This is the same pity and generosity that He continuously extends to us until this very moment. We just need to follow Him with all hour hearts and minds.

Jesus took pity on the crowd and out of His generosity flowed endless stream of bread and fish. Don’t we notice also that in our own personal lives that the more that we are generous the more blessings that we receive?

Let us all try to be generous always and we will see the steady stream of blessing coming into our way.

Saint Francis said: “It is in giving that we receive.”
